The Arrival of XPS

I just got through my credit card problem last Friday and on Wednesday, I received an sms stating that my new laptop would arrive the next day. That's pretty fast actually. Although they promised it'll arrive between 2pm - 5pm, they actually delivered it around 6.30pm, nevermind, as long as it's here.

2 big boxes, one is a Belkin bag:

There's the adapter, user manual, installation CDs and a nicely cushioned laptop. Well, if their gonna deliver it by ship or truck, that's necessary I guess. Finally, I'm getting out of my miserable life staying in office late night to online (...or not).

Unboxing Dell box:

Nice metallic cover, and it's not that heavy for an 14" laptop. A lot commented on the ugly design of XPS but it actually looks good in real life. Good keyboard and touch pad. I like the way that audio in/out ports are at the left side so that my speaker cable don't need to cross over with my mouse.

I have yet to do any serious editing nor gaming, so I can't testify its speed and performance for now, but one thing for sure, the JBL speaker is awesome (can't fight with sonic gear still). The only draw back is that the volume/brightness hotkeys are sharing same button with F1-F12, so I need to hold Fn button down while using F1-F12.

Playing with my new toy:

"Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight."
-1 Chronicles 19:13

There's a reason for everything, also for the failure of my previous gadget. Still in the progress of learning how to see the big picture that God has plan in our life. Even I can't, what I can do is... for every downtime, pray for His guidance, and for every good time, give thanks. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Oh ya, I just found that out this morning. I went and google that and the solution was:
Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Window Mobile Center/Adjust commonly used mobility settings > Function key row (set to "Function Key" instead of "Multimedia Key")
