Day 1189

"The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all"
-Revelation 22:21
-

When I started writing blog, I promised myself not to (or try not to) include too much my personal feeling so that it won't turn into an emo blog. But seems like I'm gonna excuse this post. I was like everyone (or most), that my life was all about me, I and myself. I wouldn't say I'm very selfless now but it's not that serious. *Deng.... I really dunno how to write this post*

OK! Cut the crap, I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and savior on 28th Jan 2007, and it was 1189 days ago. As Uncle Chan did the prayer, he said a few things but I kinda remember "read the bible everyday". That was the night when I started Genesis chapter 1, and now I'm in Revelation 22, the last chapter in the bible.

Theoretically I read the whole bible, but I still have so much more to learn. Reading alone is not enough, its how we surrender all and repent. There are some interesting parts I would like to share, for my case:
  • It takes me 1189 days to finish everything (3 years+) and it ends exactly at the end of April 2010
  • Old testament takes 929 days (13 Aug 09)and new testament takes 260 (today)
  • At the 1000th day (23 Oct 09), I'm at John chapter 3, where the most powerful verse (John 3:16) is
  • I reached Psalm (20 May 08) 1 month after I started my final semester in Nilai and I finished it (16 Oct 09) 1 month after I started my first semester in Nottingham
  • At the 366th day (exactly 1 year), I'm at 1 Chronicle 28, see how it shows 28 Jan?

My NLV bible:

This is the bible that Uncle Chan gave me before I became a Christian. By attending weekly bible study, I do learn some stuffs, but it took me 3 semesters to make the decision. I still remember that Cheryl was the one who taught me how to look for chapters and verses in the bible.

If someone happened to invite you to church or Christian events, it means that the person really cares about you!

Believe it or not, somewhere around the globe, someone is praying for you. Live not everyday as it is given, but it's because we are blessed and loved. Why turn down their offers? It's not because of some negative or selfish motives that we had, just that we want to share this marvelous grace and joy that we received, and we want you to have it as well.

Think about it, I wouldn't be part of these awesome people and doing awesome things if I denied on that very day (all because of Hinn and Audri...) Maybe I'll be straying around doing things aimlessly, but now life is so much more meaningful.

My prayer for dear brothers and sisters in Christ, don't stop praying as God's timing is perfect. For those who are yet to be in the light, this is my prayer for you that someone would plant a seed in your heart and one day it would harvest into a great fruit that shine for all to see. In Jesus I pray, Amen.

Change Into Se7en

It was a Tuesday when I came back from badminton, feeling super satisfied after not having any sports for 3 weeks >_<. Chilling for the afternoon, I made myself banana ice cream, enjoy til the max!

Sweet stuff after sports:

My laptop finally showed me some problem, my CPU usage was almost 100% constantly since the last few days. I bet the reason was because my Kaspersky Internet Security license just expired last 2 weeks (yes, I use original). Without any fancy programme running, just Window Live and Google Chrome are enough to take my laptop crazy.

Maximum CPU usage:

Even without anything running, the CPU usage still fluctuate, not with 30% or 40% difference, but almost 90%+ difference. I'm telling myself, this is not normal and I need to do something with it. Here comes my one Terrabyte external harddisk to back up all my stuffs ^_^.

Window Task Manager & Harddisk:

Guess what? Nottingham University actually offers us free Window license. I brought my laptop to Legend Sii and he settled everything for me, thanks a lot! Now I'm using original Window 7! Cool, but still a lot to discover about it. Yeah! Now I'm using a 62-bit Window 7 with all 4GB RAM utilized. Previously, my 32-bit Window XP only can used maximum of 3.5GB of RAM~

From Window XP:

and change into Window 7:

However, I guess there's not much leisure time left. The final of the final is drawing closer. Exam is coming! Here comes the lazy VS nervous mood, good luck everyone!

Why are my notes on my keyboard ?

"The nations of the earth will walk in its light, and the rulers of the world will come and bring their glory to it."
-Revelation 21:24
-

This is a period of tough time as we go through our studies, and it'll be tougher during exam weeks. Pray that we would be able to go through this. Also pray for Cheras Baptist for organizing the youth camp. Pray for Shen that he would be able to raise sufficient fund from the junk sale this weekend. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

CF Farewell BBQ

The Christian Fellowship had a farewell BBQ at Bandar Sunway Semenyih on Friday night. It was mainly for the leaving/graduating fellows, thanks Audrey Kwong for opening her house for us. Shen picked me up and we went there earlier to help preparing.

Cleaning the vines and preparing foods:

Well, some people arrive earlier too, but there were more than enough people to help. Audrey had a good idea that we play a game while waiting for the others (the committee members will arrive later because of a meeting). Yeah~ ConneXion ice-breakers do come in handy now, so I hosted a game for them.

Starting a fire:

OK, almost everyone's here by 8 pm, let's get the party starting. With more people, two more fire pits were done. We got lamb chop, chicken wing, corn, roti lilit, garlic bread, big sausage dogs... so many things to eat.

Shen doing the food, he looked like he's everywhere:

Well, don't mind the food, the fellowship is what matters (wow... can't believe I said that). Everyone was having fun chatting (as always) and taking pictures. For most of us, it would be the last time seeing each other.

Time for fun:

Ah... it rains in the middle of the night, thanks God it's just a while, and the fun resumed. We had our group pictures (which took us forever til Shen found the timer function in his DSLR). It was 11:30 pm we clean up (more or less) and got back. Fuh~ I guess these 2 days of party are enough for the project/assignment stress... time for exam preparation!

Group picture & saying goodbye:

"Together they will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord over all lords and King over all kings, and his people are the called and chosen and faithful ones."
-Revelation 17:14
-

As we gather in Your almighty presence, once again we felt the love that You pour out. Hereby we pray that You shower us blessings as we go through these study weeks for the coming exams. Also pray for Shen that he could complete his Group Design Project nicely and on time. All glory to you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

ConneXion Pot Luck

The same day that I pass up my last assignment, was also the day of ConneXion Semenyih's year end party (academic year). This time, we're having pot luck. I bought 6 Wall's ice cream, but still need to get there asap to help out. The first task as I arrived was wrapping popiah =.=

Wrap popiah together:

Some people still have classes on that day, but the house gradually filled up with us preparing food. They even need to plan out a kitchen schedule, I have to say the cookings are quite nice. Aw... everyone was very busy here and there.

Cooking and sandwich:

We expected around 70 people to turn up, but I guess it was a bit less (maybe 50-60?). Anyway, its still super crowded. As usual, dinner first, followed by song and game session.

Party tonight:

We were worrying that the foods are not enough, it ended up we have a lot of leftover. Even until everyone's full and gone back, it looks like we only managed to ate half of everything. Everything was suppose to finish around 10:30 pm, but we tried our best to "clear up" the food... Honestly it's too much, I surrender X_X

Leftover food:

Aaahhhh~~~ very full... chill a while in the house first. We cleaned up the place, and I helped Audri fix his back (this poor thing slept on the wrong position whole night). It should be a very tiring night, but since I'm off from assignments, as well just enjoyed a bit more.

After the party:

I dunno who started the idea, but some of us decided to stay overnight in ConneXion house =.= Well, if it's for a night chatting... I don't mind. It felt great, for having a night that I need not worry about assignment, listening to their silly stories. We didn't sleep early (obviously) til 4:30 a.m, and I was the last man sleeping ^_^ til 12:15 afternoon~ haha, right after Audri woke up.

Staying overnight:

"Great and marvelous are your actions, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations."
-Revelation 15:3
-

It was a great time of fellowship, that we had because of Your blessings. A lot of us knew that through You, all things are possible, but some are still blinded from the truth. Lord, I pray that through the efforts of ConneXion events, we would be able to spread the gospel and expand Your kingdom on earth. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

All Coursework Submitted

Why is final year such a big thing for degree students? It's just one thing - Final Year Project! This 30 credits module has been driving me crazy for the pass 9 months and finally I'm out of it! I wouldn't say I did a good job but being able to complete on time is already a miracle for me.

Ready to submit my 92 pages report/thesis:

The simulations drilled my brains off, since I'm not familiar with the softwares. Anyway, I settled down with my results by telling my supervisor this is all I can do, and started compiling my report 2 weeks before submission. Together with other courseworks and softwares not cooperating, the pass 2 weeks were horrible with a few nights camping at com lab.

Printed copies and log book:

Thanks God, all is over now. I passed up everything on time including the last coursework (due date: 22nd April). Honestly, I could had done everything a lot faster if I'm more carefree. Guess I'm just worrying too much about small sections of my assignments.

Management & Final Project:

Heat Transfer & Control and Instrumentation:

I know I'm not alone, final year students from other courses suffer as well. I ended helping one of the chemical student to design their gasifier (final year project). They did all the calculations but in order for a better presentation, they need a 3D model, and that's where Mechanical students come into picture. It looked simple but actually it's covered by steel and ceramic layer with water (blue) flowing with cooling effect.

The gasifier and chopped out view:

Finally, I can go back to my bed and sleep, I don't need to worry about anymore assignments, I don't need to rush my simulation results for my supervisor to see... T_T touching moment. However, the battle is not over, exam is in 2 weeks time!

Aww... printed out some pass year papers, but the problem is... I have no idea what happened during class for the whole semester since I'm too tired and wear off handling final project alone (although I didn't skip any class)!

Pass year papers:

"Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from all their trials; for their good deeds follow them."
-Revelation 14:13
-

Thanks Lord, thanks for blessing me with strength to carry on although I don't have enough rest. May all of these achievements be added onto Your majestic glory. Pray for other students that are still on their way completing courseworks. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
