Cameron Retreat 2011 (Day 3)

Woke up early in the morning at 7:30 am to do devotion and breakfast again. It's not like I can wake myself up despite I stayed up til super late last night, I don't think I really fall asleep after all. We're leaving early for church in Ipoh, took a lot of pictures before departure.

After a super long journey down the highland, we finally reached Joy Baptist Church in Ipoh just in time before the service starts. It's really a small church, less than 40 I guess, simple setting and simple worship. Uncle Rodney is speaking for the message. It's not that he's boring, but me and Sarah were like having a war last night, we really dozed off... zzzz

Worshiping in Joy Baptist:

It's lunch time, and Jac will bring us to some nice food in Ipoh. Get to walk around for some salt baked chicken and 豆腐花 too. It's not too surprising to me, my previous visit made me fat enough, but I admit they're cheap and nice.

Ipoh food hunt (small scale):

Jac invited us to her new house too. She said we are the first batch of large group friends that visited her house. Quite nice lo, 4 houses link together, all relatives. Next one, it's Jessica's house. We had a nice chat with the parents and they treat us durian! Yeah!

Ipoh home visiting:

We continued our journey back to Semenyih, stopped by at Connaught for dinner, a place of mix memories... We have no idea what happened to Sarah, she injured her shoulder muscle and feel pain whenever she moves her back. We manage to find her a sling on the way.

Eat too much la~

"Intercede with the LORD your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored."
-1 Kings 13:6
-

I give thanks that this had been a save journey and it will surely become a blessing for all of us. Though we had trouble physically or mentally, with ourselves or one another, pray that God You will guide us through the journey, and make every war we fought worthy of Your glory. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Cameron Retreat 2011 (Day 2)

Woke up at 7:40 am, after some simple wash up, I got out of the house. Sitting in the cold breeze, doing my devotion, that's really cool. Breakfast is sandwich, it's a big family breakfast gathering =.= After that, we had a session where some of us share about their stuff (testimony, problems, challenges, encouragement).

The morning breeze and breakfast:

Before lunch, some of them helped the kitchen, another gang drove down town to buy ingredients for dinner. Few of us walked out the house for some exploring, and found this beautiful "hotel" with lots of flowers and a cafe beside it. Lots of pictures and treat ourselves with a banana boat ^_^ What a sweet holiday~

Banana boat explorer:

Lunch is served, thanks to Uncle Rodney's hard work on the preparation. Another big family gathering, but this time there're more kids to clear up the leftovers. After that, another chilling session until we go for visitations.

Spaghetti for lunch:

We're not going to butterfly farm this time. I sorta suggest the Time Tunnel (Entrance RM3), never been there before but it just caught my attention everytime I pass by that place. It's sorta a corridor of old stuffs, not many of us are old enough to see those but it's kinda surprising that we knew most of the stuffs.

Time tunnel:

Next stop is BOH tea farm. This time, we got the balcony seats in the cafe! Wow... after a long day up and down, finally I could sit there enjoying the wind and scenery like a retired man. For those first timers, I guess this is really an eye opener to them.

At BOH tea farm:

Back for dinner~ the preparation took longer than we expected (I'm helping the kitchen for vegie and egg). Over all, it's really a nice dinner together. Followed up by the second sharing session where we who didn't get to share this morning did ours, and then we're free to do anything.

Dinner and the strawberries:

That night, Sarah took note of my sharing, and with her own sharing topic, she compiled it into a lyrics. She says she always wanted to write a song with me, seems like it's a good time too. Then we worked together til 4 am, was so tired, trying to control our volume not to wake the others up.

For all the things that we have shared, bless us and make us trust in Your ways. You hear our worries and sorrows, help us in our struggles. With all that I have, belongs to You, and let me hold on to this faith. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Cameron Retreat 2011 (Day 1)

We're back to Cameron Highland again for this year's ConneXion Semenyih's retreat. 3 cars as usual, and this time I'm in Jac's car with Sarah and Jessica inside. Consider a good combination for us, I can join the girls' talk.

Departed at 12:45 noon and reach around 5 pm:

This time there are 13 participants including Uncle Rodney), the group is growing. Once arrived and check in (I got the upper double decker bed again), here we are to start the first session. The main topic that we're discussing is, unity in Christ, which I think is pretty appropriate for our current situation.

Sit together for the first session:

Dinner time, we drove out around Tanah Rata searching for food. There's this steambot restaurant, looks quite empty, but the price is good. The food is good, customers slowly showed up too, not bad after all. According to experience, don't eat too full for the sake of desserts *eye blinking*.

Steambot at Tanah Rata:

At night, it's our chilling session. We can do what so ever we want, or rather say we need something to fill our time while we take turns for shower. Some just chat around, some glued him/herself to the upright piano and guitar.

I wonder who started the idea to complete a puzzle =.= makes this holiday even more stress. But not bad, it's sorta like an opportunity to practice unity. Not everyone lasted until the completion, but we made it, til 1:30 am I guess.

Complete with 2 missing pieces:

"But I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon’s hand; I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David my servant, whom I chose and who obeyed my commands and decrees"
-1 Kings 11:34
-

Thank You Lord for blessing the journey from Semenyih to Cameron, also for the opportunity to get away from the busy-ness of life and gather as brothers and sisters in Christ for Your words. Let us take heart of everything that we had learn and be a blessing in others' life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Wireless Switch Repair

After repairing my Dell Inspiron 1420, I can't go online due to the wireless switch (slider) that turns the built-in wireless adapter on/off, it got stuck and I can't slide it. I suppose the technician made a mistake when he re-assemble my laptop.

I was kinda worried if I need to go all the way down to Low Yat to fix it again, or I'll just do it myself (kinda high risk though). I guess it'll be alright as long as I know how to close it back as the way I open it.

Performing minor surgery with screw drivers:

Firstly, open up the nearest some screws at that corner (what to do if it's a Mac? There's no screw at all). Four would be enough for me to make an opening that's big enough.

Wow, complicated circuit boards:

Basically, what happened is the inner part of the slider is stuck at the circuit board, that prevents it to slide back. So, just lift the circuit board a bit higher while another finger flips the slider back to left. Tada! Thanks God, it's working normally now.

Push up, and recover the slider position:

"So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
-1 Kings 3:9
-

The stress level is rising, more and more work to be done. Pray that The Lord will still watch over as we fight our way out. May Your wisdom helps us along the way. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

PostGrad CNY Dinner

Since most of the colleagues are back to office from CNY break, we'll be having a CNY dinner. The venue kinda surprises me, I never knew that there's a golf and country club in Kajang. The place is kinda decent, typical golf club, the customers are mostly westerners.

Almost get lost while finding this place:

There's like 16 of us, 2 tables of CNY set dinner. I kinda know everyone, it's either colleagues of same office or they join the staff badminton session. Anyway, everyone present is a PhD student... (actually I'm used to the aura dy).

First thing, 捞生~

Besides that, we're having an early celebration for Kent and Zhiyuan that's facing their viva. After that, they'll be official PhD. That day for me, looks so far and impossible, haiz.

Congratulation to the very new PhD:

Amazingly, the food in this place is kinda nice. The CNY dinner set (10 course meal) are made for 10 people, and we have 8 at each table, making it a super satisfying meal. Of course the price is a bit costly too. Not too bad, once in a year, it's fine.

Yummy yummies:

Group picture:

"Observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go."
-1 Kings 2:3
-

Work load is getting more and more, and tougher too. Pray that we can go through all of these through the guidance and wisdom that is provided. May we first seek help from Him whenever the storm strikes, and not led into distraction or disappointment. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Retrieving My Laptop

Yeah! The repair center called me yesterday afternoon that my laptop is fixed. I got myself to Low Yat just by public transports (bus > KTM > STAR), the whole journey is almost 2 hours. Low Yat area is surprisingly empty, this is really the right time to shop around but I'm not here for that.

I'm in town again:

Phew, safely retrieve my laptop from the shop, everything looks fine. Well, also to check the price of Logitech mouse that Sarah asked for. From shops to shops that I visited, the prices on the same cordless laser mouse is RM 145 > RM 139 > RM 135 > RM 125 > RM 115 > RM 99. Wow... Low Yat, you're a crazy place.

Checking the mouse:

Seriously, from Low Yat to Times Square to Sungei Wang, it's a lot to see, but I got trouble searching for food. I bet Mid Valley still is better in that part, or maybe I'm not familiar with the restaurants around yet. Anyway, this area sure is good for cardio exercise (a lot of walking).

Hong Kong style meal:

While walking aimlessly, get what I found that turns me totally crazy. The music shop at the top floor of Sungei Wang displays Roland's Ax Synth and Lucina! Ah!!!!!!! Managed to talk with the sales about it and play both of them for a while, for the very FIRST TIME! Ah!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~ XD

Ax Synth (Up) and Lucina (Down):

"If he shows himself to be worthy, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground; but if evil is found in him, he will die.”
-1 Kings 1:52
-

Thank's God that this trip is a blessed one, no rain, no train delay and I didn't miss the bus. Haiz... hope that my laptop won't be any major defect in short time. ConneXion and CF gonna be back in action soon, pray that everything will be fine. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
