Air Motor Testing

30th April (Thursday), this is the day all of us are "waiting" for. It's the day for us to test our air motor, in other word it tells us "Yeah! we don't have to waste our time bother about this stupid project anymore!"

So, with our completed air motor, me and Jack arrived at the workshop to give it a test. The criteria is, if it works (the shaft rotates) we will get 5 marks full; or else we'll just get 3 marks with a completed but not working model. I thought the rest of the group would show up =.= but nevermind, as long as the air motor is here, it doesn't really matter.

Actually, we screwed up the first test, the shaft was just vibrating only. Then we tried to repair a bit... actually not much to do, I just open it up, tighten some bolts and add more oil (a lot a lot of lubricant) and close it up again. Nevermind if it doesn't work, we're quite tired with this project already.

Second trial... it doesn't work again T_T. Jack was waiting outside (no eye to see), but quite impossible lo! A few days ago still can what, then I force the pneumatic pipe into the inlet, strangled around some angle, and regulate the pressure supply a bit. Hoho! It rotates, and it sounds like helicopter ^_^. 5 marks for Group 13!

There're other groups as well, most of them not giving up until the final bit. They're still trying repair their air motor. Honestly, it's quite hard for last minute situation. Kelvin's group is one of the group that their air motor is working, kinda give them my respect, theirs are really cool! When I left the workshop, there're 5 groups with their air motor working. It's kinda great hearing that since there's only 2 functioning for the last batch.

Relaxing before Study Week

Last Sunday, me and Audri is serving in Cheras Baptist Church (CBC) again. As usual, we went there on Saturday morning for worship practice. Well, this time the team should be quite fun as Bryan and Ivan is in as guitarist and drummer (everyone handling their major instrument).

Actually I'm very off during the practice (not in the right condition) as I just loaded myself with 2 weeks of heavy-duty assignments, BBQ party the night before and also stayed up until almost 5 a.m that night to do something important (don't ask, it's personal). Plus, there're some hymns chosen this time, and I'm super bad at those. If I'm gonna summarize my feeling, it should be frustrated and tired.

I was wearing the sports day shirt with "Friendship Day" written behind. Ivan somehow came down and joke a bit... "wearing friendship day but not friendly ah? no la~ joking", it's kinda true anyway... One thing I'm so impressed by the youth there, they're so young but they can socialize better than me. When I'm at their age, I just live in my own world and that's all.

After the practice, we had youth activity, just some games and sharing. After hanging out awhile, I went up alone to bang on the piano (the thing I always do when I'm off). Then Bryan came and join me on the drum, made me bang even harder, one song linking to another, for almost 2 hours non-stop, but it works as always. It feels like playing out all the burden on me. Again... this Bryan keep on asking me why bad mood.... these youth is somehow a bit too sociable. =.=

That night, we hang out a while in Sunway Pyramid, thanks to the banging session that afternoon, my mood was so much better. It's also my first time going to shopping complex with a van =.= and so many churchmates.

Next, the highlight of the day! We had buffet-steambot as dinner (you can call that supper) and it costs only RM19.80 per person. I knew I couldn't eat as much as before, but that night I just eat sooooooo much! Until everyone's down, even Audri couldn't take anymore but I'm still sweeping. Actually most of the food don't go to the stomach, but it's filling up my mood ^_^, so I just eat eat eat! *eat til Happy* Thank you guys to eat with me ^_^.

Since we're all so full, we can wake up a bit late than normal, under permission by Robert. That night I can sleep so well, it's been a while for me to sleep more than 3 hours! The situation wasn't that bad on Sunday, I didn't screw up that much (although I'm still screwing) as expected *it's very important to pray everytime before starting worship*. It's extraordinary cold that day, I was shaking all the while... or is it me being super nervous again?

Uncle Rodney is sharing that day too, his message is so touching, although I'd listen to the front part before, but it's so meaningful. We have 6 people from Nottingham that day (excluding me and Audri)! After that, we had lunch at KFC.

OK, it's time for us to rush back to Semenyih to catch the bus again. Wow... it was really a tiring weekend for me and Audri that we could sleep the whole way back. If I didn't came for that weekend, I'm sure I'll be over-stressed for the study week. Anyway, thanks God for answering one of my prayer in this weekend. Well, somehow the "emo" me is still somewhere inside, thanks to Bryan and Ivan for reminding... gonna try to fix that problem... again (ya right, like I ever did).

Ezekiel 20:41 "When I bring you home from exile, you will be as pleasing to me as an offering of perfumed incense. And I will display my holiness in you as all the nations watch." LORD, I pray that you guide us with clear mind and critical thinking to study for the coming exam. Pray for students in Nilai UC too as they return to theur respective hometown after exam, bless them journey mercy, LORD. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

BBQ at Kai Seng's House

It was the day where I just finished my Air Motor fabrication, last Friday night (24th April). Our bible study group was having a BBQ party at Kai Seng's house to "celebrate" the ending of this semester (excluding exam). Literally it was for our bible study group, but we invited a lot of people too, so it was crowded with strangers.

Actually, I'm not in the mood of having fun that time since I stayed in the workshop for the whole day plus I slept late the day before because of the last report. Anyway, just be there to support... and take some picture for Kai Seng since he's at Melacca for his sister's wedding, congratz by the way.

Basically we had food, both BBQ and prepared dishes. Well... that's almost everything there. I didn't get to taste much of the food except the fried noodle, Sen Loong's mesh potatoes *it really tasted good* and one extra fish ball that Teck Ming BBQed since it's a bit late when I arrived. Oh ya, I got 2 slices of cakes from the Pharmacies~

Then, Hinn led worship (just some general songs) together with the help of Audri, Hannah and Sarah. Half of the crowd was with them, while the other half stayed with the food *expected*. Uncle Rodney shared a short message too, most of the crowd was listening =.= *incredible*.

There's obvious separation of gangs in the party, it's kinda unavoidable coz Kai Seng's housemate invited their friends along too... which we don't really know them. Anyway, the pharmacies are having a lot of fun themselves in the house. One of the main purpose of this party is also for Novell's birthday.

We also prepared a little surprise for Alex, one of the senior member of our bible study group and is graduating soon. Nothing much, just sing some songs and ask him to give a small speech, that's all.

Ezekiel 19:10 "Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard, Planted by the waters; It was fruitful and full of branches Because of abundant waters". Mother's day is arriving, nothing special here... my whole month of May is filled up by exam. Pray that God bless us in our study. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

12 Weeks of 2nd Sem is Done!

Fuhhhhhhhhh~ I thought I'm not gonna make it through the weeks, but thanks God for taking care of me. It's obvious that I'm super busy with all the reports, assignments, projects and what-so-ever thing that mess up a student life recently as I didn't blog for the pass 7 days!

Since the first assignment that I completed in these 2 weeks which is the previous post about the programming assignment that drove me crazy overnight, I'd spend endless nights in computer lab but somehow I still slept for at least 3 hours everyday.

One of the craziest project I did is my 4th design project that we're required to design a power plant or power generating device to supply the power for The University of Nottingham Sutton Bonnington Campus in UK and we should break even within 10 years (which means the cost used for the power plant must be covered up by the money saved in 10 years time).

It's supposed to be a 1 month project that we need to present our idea in the form of plan poster, and I did everything (research+cost calculation+business plan+designing the poster) in 2 days. Thanks for Kai Seng who gave me precious advices as he's having a paper that is similar to power plant design as well.

Well, the day of presentation finally arrived. We are ordered to enter our tutor's room 1 by 1 to give him a brief presentation and defend our solution when questions are asked. My presentation is somehow OK as Dr Nawaf is not that kind of fussy lecturer and I think he's interested in one of my method - the Wave Dragon. *There's a link to its main website, just click on the word itself, engineers should check it out! Anyway, today is the last day of lecture for 12 weeks of classes and guess what? I skipped class for the whole morning to complete my Air Motor project fabrication. It's supposed to be done earlier but the busy schedule just made our life difficult. Luckily, we still settled it today and I hope it works on the day of testing (if it works, there'll be extra marks awarded).

I can actually go back home in the afternoon and relax for a while after stressing myself for 2 weeks, but I decided to stay back at the workshop to help my coursemates from the other groups to finish their Air Motor. Not because I'm a busy-body (I don't deny it completely) but because I understand the frustration of groupmates not helping and how it feels when you need helping hands. Besides, they helped me throughout my previous assignments and projects.

Overall, I'm glad all my courseworks are done but just feels bad about being unable to lead worship well during the last bible study session... because of too busy thus not enough preparation. After this weekend, I'm suppose to drill my notes as exam is coming soon, but I guess I can't do it yet as something more important lies in between.

I'm so stress until I started a chocolate bar and it left only 3 rows:

Ezekiel 16:54 "you may bear your shame and be disgraced for all the confort you brought." Challenges and suffering are essential for life (it's easy to say...) in order for us to grow and learn. Keeping ourselves in the comfort zone somehow shows immaturity of living a life. I pray that God bless us a peaceful and organized mind to study during our study break. Pray that for those who travel back to their respective hometown, may God blesses them journey mercy. Finally, for my personal problem that haunt me, LORD, just one more chance, please allow me to take this challenge one more time. Be with me oh LORD, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Doing Assignment Overnight

I'm busy working on assignments, report and project for these 2 weeks. There's one assignment that dues today, where we are recquired to solve a mechanics question. The methods are Shooting Method and Finite Difference Method which is possible to be done by hand calculation but I garentee you won't want to give it a try because it is tideous and repeatitive. Thus, C programming is in the picture to get this thing done.

Well, the sad case is I have to design my own unique program since they have a software to check for plegarism. From the last assignment, any 2 or more programs found to have more than 80% of similarities will have their marks divided by 2. Thanks god mine's OK, I figured the answer out anyway.

Besides that, by applying both methods above, it breaks into 6 sub-methods, and it will be better if I can include all 6 methods into my program. Actually I'd done the 2 basic methods which is good enough to submit, but why not just give it a shot.

This Wednesday, I spent my night trying to solve it, but it's really cracking my head to understand the concepts and programming executor (thanks to Zi-Yian, Felicia and Sue Lynn that helped a lot). Finally, after hours of effort of try and error, I got my program running, and it's almost morning (yupz, our computer lab opens 24 hours for desperate students like us).

I can't belive my program is 8 pages long! Maybe it's nothing for the computing students but programming is honestly not my line. Actually I can relax as I still have 2 days until assignment submmition, but I want to finish it early so that I can proceed to the next assignment, time is running out. Well, just wish me luck and pray for me~ especially my coming exam.

By the way, the day after I did my assignment for whole night has no class (lucky enough). I reached home from uni at 9a.m (where everyone just woke up) and I'm going to bed. There goes my biological clock, being messed up for the first time in Nottingham Uni. Furthermore, here I am in the computer lab preparing for another assignment again, it's not over!

Ezekiel 9:4 "Put a mark on the foreheads of all those who weep and sigh because of the sins they see around them" and these people are given mercy. It's important to be able to identify sins around us and not fall into it. Thus, the best question to ask ourselves are "what is the wise thing to do?". Pray that god gives us wisdom and strength to overcome this stressful period. Also pray for Nilai UC students who are facing final exam. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Easter in Cheras Baptist Church

I'm appointed to join the worship band for this Sunday in Cheras Baptist Church (CBC), so I went there on Saturday morning for practice. Thanks Wilson for picking me up at Bandar Tasik Selatan KTM station. It's actually a very challenging worship session because Lydia, a very good and capable worship leader will be leading this time (I think she's the best in CBC), as well as Bryan and Chritopher the super talented guitarist/bassist. We practiced 7 songs and among all of those I only knew 2 songs! Never in my life I played so many hymns.

It was a long day, I joined the youth to prepare for the Easter event where we are setting up stations to demonstrate what happened to Jesus and what it means of crucification and dying on the cross to the Sunday School kids (minus the violent part of coz). Then we had choir practice and dinner. I was quite worried for the next day's service, a very high possibility that I would screw the whole team up (again...). We stayed overnight at Robert's house, woke up around 6.30 a.m to prepare for Easter! Thanks so much Robert, always come Cheras also kacau you so much :P

OK, I'll be handling the first station together with Bryan, Sammy and Ivy. Bryan will take the place of Jesus, and I'll be Simon Peter (one of Jesus' disciple). It was during the last supper, where Jesus humbled himself and washed the feet of all his disciples, the main thing is to tell the kids we must also humble ourselves and don't think we're better than someone (Bryan washed my feet 5 times ^_^).

Maybe because I never experience how childhood is as a christian, watching all these small kids in church somehow stirred up something inside me... Anyway, I'm fine with my life. Once we're done doing the same thing for 5 batch of kids, we walked around to have a look at the other stations.

I found Ivan and Shan Berg's station quite interesting, the kids are given a card writen "My Sins" earlier. At this station, they have to nail the card onto the cross. This signifies that Jesus dies on the cross and our sins are washed away.

Another good one is Wilson and Joel's station, about the ressurection of Jesus on Easter. They placed a body on the table (it's actually all cloth inside), and started explaining why Jesus needed to be crucified. Then they turn off the lights when the topic proceeds to the world is filled with sin. After that, they turned on the light, and the body on the table is gone. Just like how the bible stated, the disciples couldn't see Jesus in his tomb (which means he rose from the dead). *Great job, Wilson and Joel*

Here it comes, it's Sunday service! We did OK for the worship session, but situation changed. Since there's gonna be a baptism ceremony, we are supposed to play another song =.=", and Pastor requested us to play another additional song that is very meaningful for revival of Jesus Christ. What the... 7 songs already overloaded me... and I need to play another 2 songs that I never heard before immediately! I started praying... hope that holy spirits will guide me through the situation.

Well... I did my best, to avoid too much clashes with the team... I did "free-style". Just like what the worship tutorials in youtube said, tied your left hand, and it turned out to be very good (at least that's what I think)! Anyway, the reason I wanted to join this Sunday worship is to improve myself in worship, and I think... this is a very precious experience. Thanks Lydia for leading and Bryan for guiding~

Being another tired day, it rained heavily when we got down the bus. No point running back home, as we're already chicken soup wet. This actually reminds me of my previous post Rain Down On Me. Unlucky or whatever? Think it in a better way, it might be a sign of god's blessings over us. Praise The LORD for all that He has done for us!

Ezekiel 4:17 "Food and water will be so scarce that the people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment." Jesus baring all our sins and died on the cross, he roses from the grave and to heaven, preparing a place for us, so that we will have eternal life. I'm kinda stressed up because of my busy study life, I prayed before going to CBC, that LORD would show me the decision I made is right. Thank you LORD, for blessing me this precious experience and chance of fellowship. Also pray for all University of Nottingham students who are rushing to complete assignments and preparing for exams. May The LORD's mercy be with us, in Jesus most precious name, Amen.
