Final Project Presentation

Yesterday was my final year project presentation, where I'm gonna wrap up all the rubbishes that I did in this year and tell the audiences how proud I am to achieve this. Thanks God I have no class on Tuesday, which makes it a perfect day for me to get ready for the monkey show.

Final rehearse and get ready to go:

Duh~ the attire for this presentation is formal... After lunch, I am a bit early to the hall but there are already people preparing there. My group consists 7 of my classmates including me. Surprisingly, another girl missed her session this morning and she joined our afternoon session. So I'm not the last one to present ^_^

Reach the hall and trying to calm down:

The other classmates started their presentation. Gosh... all of them were able to finish their slides in 15 minutes =.= I knew for sure I'm gonna go more than that, it made me worried more. Although our invigilators are not the "make your life difficult" type, they asked a lot still.

Others' presentation:

OK, finally it's my turn. Shen Quang showed up just to watch me present, extra nervous. Luckily, the invigilator that suppose to time us went to the wash room, and the other one just asked me to start (I bet he can't wait to end it). I'm quite certain that I took more than 15 minutes, but no one said stop ^_^. They asked me less questions too, and I managed to answer their few threatening doubts (I guess).

My presentation:

"The Lord isn't being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent."
-2 Peter 3:9
-

Lord, thanks for blessings us walking through another stage of hard moment. Thanks for the prayers of so many people. Anyway, more prayers needed for assignments and report. It's gonna be a hectic month, but as long as I know God is with me, through it all. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Coffee Night

Friday night is our weekly ConneXion Night, where we gather in ConneXion house to chill and have fun together (fellowship). Last week we had Coffee Night where people have some coffees or other drinks, with guitar, keyboard and mic set up, anyone can just perform.

Random performances and recording:

We had our default musicians perform the first few, Audri and Legend kinda be the star of that night. It's great that we have other few that also generously share their music with us, some of them from CF came to perform and support too~

Some of the performers:

New ConneXion member:

Me and Audri's song, others are on my facebook Video tab:

Aside those SS'ers that performed, I think the crowd enjoyed too... having some drinks (although it's only nescafe and milo) with free tickets to watch performances. Anyway, it's a very good efforts for those that seldom but have the courage to perform in front of people.

The drinks and the crowd:

For the closing item, we had this special performance from Isaac, Maurice and Legend that they spent almost an hour in the room to figure it out. What a good job to entertain the people.

Doing some mystery performance:

I guess we really had a lot of fun though... in the misc of heavy assignments and projects. Thanks a lot to Cheras Baptist Church for lending us one of their good mic and mic stand. Also thanks Chris and Chiaw Min for recording down the performances.

"Pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a light shinning in a dark place until the day Christ appears and his brilliant light shines in your hearts."
- 2 Peter 1:19
-

Lord, thank You for this good time of fellowship. Thanks for these gifts that You had blessed us. Let us not take the glory, but we use these gifts to bring You glory. Humble us by Your throne and let Your way be done. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Worship Awakening

The Christian Fellowship of Nottingham University organized their annual worship concert called Worship Awakening on Tuesday. It's a time to gather Christian in the university and have a time to worship and give praise.

Worship Awakening poster:

It took the committee a lot of hard time to make this possible. A lot of prayers, practises and preparations. I'm the keyboardist for the band, and we had 2 intensive practises. We even had one exclusive day for vocalist to practise. Deeply, I salute and give full respect to everyone's commitment into this event.

All the practises:

After all the efforts, finally the day came. We had a lot of helping hands to set things up. After getting our instruments and sound check done, we jam for a while to get ourselves heat up and went for a quick meal.

Setting up:

We couldn't get the great hall for our event since it's booked for career fair, but worship is not about the place, it's about the heart. We got a lecture hall anyway. The crowd slowly build up, and we started rocking for the night.

From the stage:

We did 12 songs for the night, and they are not easy songs (for me)! More than half of the songs are new to me but thanks God it worked out. We had 4 worship leaders going 3 songs each, keeping the transition kinda challenging. Good thing is it's the same band for Christmas Celebration, the chemistry is kinda there ^_^.

Worship band and media control:

Undeniable, I learnt a lot and it's definitely a great experience joining the worship awakening band. Seriously, after 2 hours of continuous playing and drown under drum and electric guitars' sound, I was entirely exhausted! We went our for supper and a big cup of ABC did cheer me up~

ABC at Ibrahim Maju:

"God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you."
-1 Peter 5:10
-

Thank you Lord for blessing me through another great time of worship. Pray that You would guide us through the assignments and project presentation. Lead us to be light that shines at our area of ministry. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

UNMC Annual Dinner 2010

20th Mac was the day for Annual Dinner at Shangri-La hotel. I joined the ConneXion table, so we got ourselves prepare at ConneXion house in the afternoon. Thanks a lot to Chris Hii for setting up my hair colour ^_^.

You guys done? Here we go:

We reached there a bit early, still got plenty of time before it started.People started to turn up, and there goes the crowded picture taking session, with whoever we saw. Good thing that I experienced this last year, I'm not too stunned by their glamorous looks.

At the foyer of Shangri-La:

Amazing, ConneXion table is just right beside CF's table. The food were a bit nicer than last year but a lot lesser (just 4 course meal T_T). Anyway, I had most of my time moving around taking pictures with other tables :P.

Gold fish as deco and appetizer:

chicken breast and ice-cream:

What else was on? As usual, they had Mr and Mrs Nottingham final, best dress and some band performances. Audri's band performed again, I guess that's the only reason that I would even bother to take a shot of the stage.

Band performance and best dress:

Well, the night went on until it finishes around 11 something. Throughout, we eat, we take pictures... and I can't recall doing anything else. Overall, it's a great night having dinner with the future bosses.

Ex-Nilai and members of table 58:

We got our own sparkling juice as well XD:

Guess what, the group didn't make it to Zouk because of some under-age people, so we had our supper at Kajang's Mc Donald. I believe this is so much better than cramping with people with alcohol and smoke smell. In the end, we all reached home at around 2 am~ Haha.

Our after-party:

"And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness."
-James 3:18
-

Lord, thank You for blessing us this good time of fellowship. Thanks for the moment of peace and joy we had with each other. Uphold us in the future events that will possibly bring people to know You. Be with us as our final year projects and assignments due dates are drawing nearer. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Hunting for Outfit

The Nottingham University Annual Dinner is one week ahead, the ConneXion gang decided to hunt for some "glamorous" shirts. They were so excited about it for few days. So after church on Sunday, we went to Sungai Wang to accomplish this sacred mission.

Waiting for train and while walking to Sungai Wang:

Without further delay, we gonna get our lunch in Kim Gary. It seemed like it'll take us quite a while to wait for a table, but anywhere is the same. Oh my... I want's feeling very well along the way, I hope it's not gastric problem. It felt a lot better after lunch =.=

Lunch at Kim Gary:

OK, start working. It's time to go around and hunt for our own things. Hinn was my consultant, so I'll just leave everything to him :P Audri, Maurice and Kai Seng got themselves some good stuffs, Hinn had a hard time looking for his but he get one too... Anyway, we everyone did get something except Chiaw Min~

Shopping with ConneXion gang:

We shopped from 2 pm til 7 pm, non-stop searching for shops and making decisions. Everyone was so tired until we can't bother about anything else. We stopped at The Station Kopitiam for dinner.

Dinner time:

It's like 8 pm already, I'm replenished by the meal ^_^ but it doesn't work on the others~ Some of them were so tired that they wanna go home immediately... Well, let's just call it a day. In the end, I just got myself something from SEEDS~ gonna be revealed in the Annual Dinner post~ stay tune!

Time to go back:

"Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds"
-Hebrew 10:24
-

Annual dinner is arriving soon, and SPM result is out. This reminds me that I had been joining Cheras Baptist's worship team for exactly one year already. Somehow I can still recall how's my skill at that state, but I'm not much better now as well. Lord, thanks for blessing the SPM candidates in CBC, as my prayers are answered, we know that You hold onto Your promise, now and forever. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
