First Month of Post Grad

It's already 4 weeks since I joined the research world. At first, negative thoughts kept rushing in, that this is a total disaster of life. Hey, wait a second... it's not that bad after all, comparing to working life.

Through the weeks, me and my senior have developed our vibro-impact rig. It is now almost as tall as me =.= (compare to this). It feels kinda great seeing some outcome, but not starting with literature review is weird.

Our experimental rig at this point:

Seriously, I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing or suppose to do. I just know that currently I'm playing with electrical devices and try to obtain some data, and write out some paper. Seniors told me, according to experience, the blur-ness will haunt me for at least 6-9 months *eiks*.

Oscillator and function generator:

My senior calls this masterpiece as "mass destruction weapon". As far as I know... the produced vibration suppose to be able to dig through soil (success) and break stones (only works on small stones currently). So everyday I would just listen to 33.3-33.7 Hz of vibration *tak tak tak tak*, looking at the small rock and pray... "please shatter".

It's time to rock and roll~

Oh ya, one of the coolest thing is, I got myself a workstation (office). It's at a corner with the other researchers, and they are my colleagues ^_^ The PC provided wasn't very helpful, but plugging the LCD monitor to my laptop, I have dual screen, very useful for multi-task (facebook and manga at the same time :P)!

My workstation:

"If you turn away from following him, he will again leave all this people in the desert, and you will be the cause of their destruction."
-Numbers 32:7
-

I pray that I will have the endurance and strength to carry on this path. By the way, new academic year will be starting tomorrow. A brand new chapter for everyone, may the blessings of God be with all of you, Amen.
