WorshipAsia Conference (CBC)

Here comes the last part of WorshipAsia trilogy (choir+concert+conference). It's the conference in CBC on Monday night. It's actually more like a training/talk for worship leaders. Of course, since I joined the worship band in CBC for a few times (3 times only), they want me to attend this conference as well.

As usual, I arrived Bandar Tasik Selatan station and waited for Robert Ling. Really appreciate him for taking all the troubles to come and pick me up. Then, we picked up some of other churchmates (just Shi Ying and Queenie only). It would be a very long night, so we had our dinner before going to church.

Waiting Shi Ying at her college, and dinner time:

Arrived at church a bit earlier than the starting time. Have a little chat with Pastor Kenneth (wow... first time) and found out that he's actually classmate of Colin's father during college (small world =.="). He also told me the church will sponsor students for this conference. I'm free from paying RM30 for this conference ^_^.

Everyone got a worship leader handbook written by the speaker Kenny Lamm himself. The conference covered most of the outlines, but some details are done through personal readings and worship team meetings. The contents of the handbook includes:
  • Theology of Worship
  • Leadership of Worship
  • Songs for Worship
  • Formats for Worship
  • Mechanics of Worship
  • Corporate Worship in Practice
Basically, it's good for worship leaders to understand more in choosing songs and linking them together. However, nothing much is covered for the musicians part. Anyway, they did some demonstrations, nothing surprising but quite satisfied.

"On that day I will purify the lips of all people, so that everyone will be able to worship the LORD together."
-Zephaniah 3:9

May the participants of this series of WorshipAsia events be blessed and learn to be better worshipers. Pray that we will be able to apply the things that we learn and improve. Most importantly to know You better in our life. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
