Snail restaurant and formal art school:
The current Barcelona is actually a new town build on top of the old structures, the original ground level is actually 3 to 5 meters below. The guide showed us a few structures that remains, and let us touch the wall that went through 2000 years of civilization. There's also this statue of Saint Eulalia who stood up during the persecution of Christianity in year 303 (worth checking the story).
Ancient wall and Saint Eulalia statue:
There's actually a lot of cathedrals around, for instance, this one is build by fishermen who during day off, walked to the mountain and moved rocks back to town to build it. The mark on the door commemorate the hard labor of the workers.
One of the cathedral and the marking on the door:
Hard board decorations are setup in town for Christmas, they have this every year but different design. The decos are to convey the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, like the manger and 3 wise men. However, there is this extra character that appears every year, the shitting man (literally), just a tradition of humor.
Christmas deco in town:
This is one of the church that suffers from the bombing during civil war, and what worse is a kid school is just beside it. Next is the palace of Barcelona where kings used to stay. Christopher Columbus walked up these very stairs to report his findings to the king including the discovery of American continents.
Bombing mark and royal palace:
"May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."
-Psalms 122:7-
-Psalms 122:7-
It always give me an impression that Portugal and Barcelona are Christian countries due to the promotion of gospel during Christmas, the numbers of churches/cathedrals are also impressive. Great to know that there are still nations that are keen for The Lord, may peace be with you all, Amen.
