C.H.U.R.C.H

I'm not those kind of person that care much about my country's politic, somehow it's due to the great disappointing encounter I had in 2005. However, things had gone too far, 4 churches in Klang Valley were hit by petrol bombs on Friday, 2 on Sunday in Taiping and 1 in Miri.

Police investigating the damage:

I wonder will the attack goes on. How are the churches that I went before? Melacca Methodist Church, Grace Family Sanctuary in Banting, City Harvest Church, First Baptist Church, All Saint Cathedral and even Nilai Sunday Service.

The message on last Sunday, was about church. This beautiful place for us to worship, is not the church. We are the church, physical damage on the building won't tear us down. So true, and forgiveness is crucial. Our Lord has been so merciful on them, or else I dunno what kind of disaster will strike.

I was playing in the band and we had this intersession after praise and worship session. As I'm still playing Lord Heal Our Land as background, Pastor led in prayer and opened it up for anyone to come forward and pray.

I'm surprise to see a few that came forward. A person that I knew for almost decade and brought me to Christ, shows so much concern in this matter. Another one who I look up so much and even setting as my example, fall on his knee, shed in tears. Emotion rises as I looked at him, unable to explain the moment.

Can't hold myself, I turned back and peep at the congregation. People were praying, worshiping and even crying. It's no more myself on the piano, guided by the spirit, I changed to God of This City, I felt their prayers upon this song, expressing our hope for the nation.

Now I understand what it means by "break my heart for what break yours", it really stirred me up watching them in tears. We are not sad because of the damaged church, we are sad for the sin that people rebel You as God almighty. We wanna see a change.

"I am not overstating it when I say that the man who caused all the trouble hurt your entire church more than he hurt me. He was punished enough when most of you were united in your judgement against him. Now it is time to forgive him and comfort him."
-2 Corinthians 2:5~7

My prayer is that, if a change can only be done through all these, Lord, let it flame. Light up our faith as we come together in one heart for Your glory. Build us in spirit through the wrack of this city, make us stronger that this nation will be saved and turn to You. With Your unfailing love, forgive those that sinned. Pray that they will come to know You one day. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
