Monocoque Modeling 3

Why am I still straying around this project? Because my supervisor rejected my previous designs! Well, not totally, he's just not satisfied with certain parts and want us (me) to modify it. It's easy for him to comment, but it'll be me getting into deep trouble.

About the modifications, after analyzing the situation... the only solution is to redo all parts... SIENZ. So, I spent 4 days with extreme working rate. I stayed at com lab til almost 5 a.m every night.

For the front nose, basically my tutor is not happy with the front edge. He said that it's not curve enough and "looks ugly". So, I remodeled the whole shape and made it more streamline. Of course, with this kind of shape, the manufacture team is gonna have a hard time (Who cares~ XD).

More rounded edges and maintain the ribs:

There're actually not much problem at the cockpit's casing. However, since he want the overall material thickness to be thinner, the cockpit will have the most troublesome modification to do. As the cockpit is the connector of all parts, the planning of dimension must be perfect.

Added round holder to fit the frame:

It came to the most complicated part, the side air intake port. The required stuffs is to open the intake mouth bigger and curve the back part more for aerodynamic purpose. By simplifying the ribs, this part was done in only few hours.

Finally, it come to the assembly. Some spacing problems occurred at the side port and cockpit contact, but easily fixed. Phew... finally, days of battle with Pro/E has ended, unless he's not satisfied with something again.

Assembled model with the frame:

Today, I went to see my supervisor with the detail drawings of parts and assembly. This moment determines my life of the next 7 days. He took a look, and said "This is a lot better than the last one, good.". Haha! Means that my task is done! I'm off from Pro/E!!! Anyway, it's not that bad actually, I trained myself sleeping short hours again and my Pro/E skills seriously improved ^_^.
