ESCC Graduation

Last Saturday, it was the graduation ceremony for the children in Early Step Care Centre (ESCC). Children there are all in special need of care, such as down syndrome, hyper active and slow learner. Anyway, they're still God's children, they deserve love like others.

The opening of the graduation ceremony with some songs:

I'm actually there to help out in the play. It's about Jesus healing the blind, the message is no matter how dark your world is, believe in Jesus and you'll find light. Shan Berg and Wei Jian were the blind beggars, and I'm doing Jesus.

Blind men being healed:

After that, I was asked to perform a song for the children on the keyboard. Thinking of what I'm good in, and relate to the play, it guides me to "I once was blind but now I see". Perfect, so I did Amazing Grace in Jazz. Then encore again coz the MC asked... so I did Who Am I. It's my first time doing solo, very nervous though it's only small kids.

This kid was so impressed (I guess):

Phew... finally the big thing was done. The graduation went on with games and special dress competition. However, I'm rushing to worship practice at church, so I didn't stay til the end.

Game time:

Anyway, it's incredible to be given a chance to serve the need. Maybe it's just little stuff that I did, but it really opened my eyes and think deeper about life. Once thought that my trouble is the worst in the whole world, but there're more people that have greater problems than I do.

A cute slippers that look like mine, and a picture taken with my blind men:

"The apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. The Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders."
-Acts 14:3

Lord, pray that you continue to bless the SPM candidates. Open their heart and minds so that they are strong while facing the challenges. Also pray that You may lay Your healing hand upon the sick, strengthen our body and soul to live everyday for You. In Jesus I pray, Amen.

hey man, you're literally one of the only 'Jesus'es that those kids may see... : )
i'm glad that you've helped out, it is truly a great reminder for all of us of what it really means to be like Jesus - to serve others and not be served.

i'll see you around man

No problem, I'm glad to be given this one and only time for doing solo on keyboard.

Although I didn't do well, but it's really an unforgotable event. Let's continue rocking for Christ.
